Supplications for self
"O Allah! To You I have submitted, and in You do I believe, and in You I put my trust, to You do I turn, and for You I argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with You through Your Power; there is none worthy of worship except You Alone; that You safeguard me against going astray. You are the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists; the One Who never dies, whereas human beings and jinn will all die"[Taken from a hadith agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim]
"I take Allah's Refuge from being among Al-Jahilun (the ignorants or the foolish)."Al-Baqarah 2:67 (by Musa Alaihisalaam)
"O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon your religion!"
"Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily! You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower."Al-Baqarah 2:127 (By Ibrahim & Ismā'īl)
"Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage - Hajj and 'Umrah, etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful.Al-Baqarah 2:128
O Allah, grant me martyrdom
'Umar Ibn Khattab used to make the following du'a:
"O Allah! Grant me martyrdom in Your cause, and let my death be in the city of Your Prophet."
Sh. Shinqeeti said: If your Iman drops and you become lazy with worship then repeat this du'a:
O Allāhﷻ do not make me wretched or deprived [of good].
“O Allāh, make my deeds righteous, make them purely for Your sake, and do not let anyone else have a share of them.”
"O Allāh, I seek refuge in you that I associate partners with you while I know, and I seek your forgiveness for what I do not know.”
"O Allāh make me steadfast, grant me Hidayah (guidance) and let me of those who is guided."
"O Allāh, grant me 'izzah (honour) by obedience to You, and don't humiliate/weaken me by disobedience to You."
Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire![2:201]
"Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower."[3:8]
"Our Lord! We have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire."[3:16]
"Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers."[7:23]
My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me![28:24]
"O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils).

My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous;

Ash-Shu'ara' 26:83-85
"Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established."Sura Ibrahim, Ayah 41
"My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."Surah Isra [17:24]
Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!"Al-Mu'minun: 109
And say: "My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!"Al-Mu'minun: 118
We are from Allah and unto Him we return.O Allah take me out of my plightand bring to me after it something better.Reference: Muslim 2/632
Abu Musa Ash'ari reported on the authority of his father that Allahs Apostle (ﷺ) used to supplicate in these words:
" O Allah, forgive me my faults, my ignorance, my immoderation in my concerns. And You are better aware (of my affairs) than myself. O Allah, grant me forgiveness (of the faults which I committed) seriously or otherwise (and which I committed inadvertently and de- liberately. All these (failings) are in me. O Allah, grant me forgiveness from the fault which I did in haste or deferred, which I committed in privacy or in public and You are better aware of (them) than myself. You are the First and the Last and over all things You are Omnipotent."Sahih Muslim 2719 a
'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf reported:I asked 'A'isha, the mother of the believers, (to tell me) the words with which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commenced the prayer when he got up at night. She said: When he got up at night he would commence his prayer with these words: O Allah, Lord of Gabriel, and Michael, and Israfil, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who knowest the unseen and the seen; Thou decidest amongst Thy servants concerning their differences. Guide me with Thy permission in the divergent views (which the people) hold about Truth, for it is Thou Who guidest whom Thou wilt to the Straight Path.Sahih Muslim 770
Ibn Qayyim rahimahullah cites in his book I’laam al-Muwaqi’een that Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah would say the following words when a matter would be unclear to him:
“Oh Teacher of The Prophet Ibrahim teach me”
Ask Allāh for Lasting Faith:Mu’āwiyah b. Qurrah reports that Abū Al-Dardā` used to say, “We ask الله for a lasting faith (īmān), true certainty and beneficial knowledge.”Ibn Battah, Al-Ibānah Al-Kubrā Vol. 2 P498
" ހަމަކަށަވަރުން، އަޅަމެން އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެ ޙަޟްރަތުން މިއެދެނީ، ދެމިހުންނަނިވި އީމާންކަމާއި، ތެދުވެރި ޔަޤީންކަމާއި، ފައިދާހުރި ޢިލްމަށެވެ. "
" O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from incapacity, from sloth, from cowardice, from miserliness, decrepitude and from torment of the grave. O Allah, grant to my soul the sense of righteousness and purify it, for Thou art the Best Purifier thereof. Thou art the Protecting Friend thereof, and Guardian thereof. O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the knowledge which does not benefit, from the heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allah), from the soul that does not feel contented and the supplication that is not responded."Sahih Muslim 2722
Sayyidul Isthighfar
Shaddad ibn Aws reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him,
“The best way to seek forgiveness is that you say:
" O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no God but You. You created me and I am Your servant, I am committed to You and Your promise, as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge Your favors and I acknowledge my sins, so forgive me. Verily, no one forgives sins but You. "Source: Sahīh al-Bukhārī 6306
Supplications against enemies
Upon encountering an enemy or those of authority
O Allah, we ask You to restrain them by their necks and we seek refuge in You from their evil.Sunan Abu Dawud 1537
O Allah, You are my strength and You are my support. For Your sake I go forth and for Your sake I advance and for Your sake I fight.Hisnul Muslim 127
Allah is sufficient for us and the best of those on whom to depend.Surah Al-Imran - 3:173
Dua against the oppression of rulers
O Allah, Lord of the Seven heavens, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, be for me a support against (say the person's name) and his helpers from among your creatures, lest any of them abuse me or do me wrong. Mighty is Your patronage and glorious are Your praises. There is none worthy of worship but You.
Say three times:
Allah is the Most Great, Mightier than all His creation. He is Mightier than what I fear and dread. I seek refuge in Allah, Who there is none worthy of worship but Him. He is the One Who holds the Seven heavens from falling upon the earth except by His command. (I seek refuge in You Allah) from the evil of Your slave (say the person's name), and his helpers, his followers and his supporters from among the jinn and mankind. O Allah, be my support against their evil. Glorious are Your praises and mighty is Your patronage. Blessed is Your Name, there is no true God but You.Hisnul Muslim 130
Dua made against an enemy
Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift to account, defeat the groups (of disbelievers). O Allah, defeat them and shake them.Hisnul Muslim 131
What to say when in fear of people
O Allah, suffice (i.e. protect) me against them however You wish.
Supplications for the Ummah
"Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."Al-Mumtahanah 60:5
And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful."Al-Hashr 59:10
"My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents, and him who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women. And to the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, and disbelievers, etc.) grant You no increase but destruction!"Nuh 71:28
... "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]."Al-A'raf 7:126
... "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."Al-Baqarah 2:250
Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift to account, defeat the groups (of disbelievers). O Allah, defeat them and shake them.
O Allah, cover our weak points and calm our fears.
O Allah, use us for the victory of Your religion and do not replace us
"Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help."An-Nisa' 4:75
Dua for covering:
And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see.Ya Sin 36:9
And say: My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al-Madinah) be good, and likewise my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You an authority to help me (or a firm sign or a proof).Al-Isra' 17:80
(Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave, they said: "Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!"Al-Kahf 18:10
Taken from the Qunūt of 'Umar رضي الله عنه [as reported by Abū Rāfī' on the authority of 'Alī ibn Zayd ibn Jud'ān, by 'Abd Ar-Razzāq in "Musannaf" ( 3ج p111-112 # 4817) ] :
O Allāh! You alone we seek for help and for forgiveness
We praise You and we do not deny You.
And we believe in You, and we disavow and abandon those who transgress against You.
O Allāh! You (alone) we worship.
And we pray and prostrate to You.
And we seek to hasten (and strive without faltering) in obedience to You.
And we hope for Your Mercy and we fear for Your Punishment.
Verily! Your Torment against the disbelievers will be carried out.
O Allāh! Torment the infidels!
And cast terror in their hearts!
And put differences in their words (break them apart)!
And bring down upon them Wrath and Your Punishment!
O Allāh! Torment the infidels from the people of the scripture, those who obstruct people from Your Path,
And denied Your Messenger and fought Your Awliyah.
O Allāh! Forgive the believing men and the believing women, and the muslim men and the muslim women,
Reconcile between them!
And bring their hearts together!
And put faith and hikmah in their hearts!
And keep them firm upon the Millat of the Prophet!
And grant them the Tawfīq to fulfill Your Covenant with them!
And grant them victory over Your enemies and theirs!
O True Ilāh (God)! Let us be among them!
O Allâh! Raise the standing of Islam and the Muslimeen
O Allâh! degrade the standing of shirk and the mushrikeen
O Allâh aid the oppressed muslimeen in every place and at all times.
By Your Mercy, O The Most Merciful
O Allâh aid our Brothers, the sincere Believers, the Monotheist (Muwahideen), the Mujahideen in Your cause everywhere and at all time
especially those in Sham, Palestine,
Yemen, Iraq, Iran*, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Kashmir, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Burma, Ambon, Poso, Syria, Uyghur, Libya, Egypt, India, Bangladesh and all places and all timesBy Your Mercy, O The Most Merciful
O Allâh! I seek refuge in You from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the mischief of Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal.
Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
O Allāh, raise the standing of Islam and the Muslims, degrade the the standing of Shirk and the Mushrikeen, destroy the enemies of the Deen, and protect the lands of Islam, O Lord of the 'aalameen.
O Allāh, grant Victory to Your Religion, Your Book, and the Sunnah of Your Prophet, and Your Monotheist slaves.
Oh Allāh you are our Helper, and You are our Victor, and You are sufficient for us and the Best Guardian.
O Allāh! break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, O Allāh, break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, O Allāh, break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims, and return them safely to their families.
"O Allāh! They are in urgent need of Your Mercy. O Allāh! They are in urgent need of Your Mercy. O Allāh! they are in urgent need of Your Mercy, so send upon them Your Mercy. O Most Merciful, O Most Kind, so send upon them Your Mercy, O Most Merciful, O Most Kind."
"O Allāh! Whoever has harmed them, then harm him, and whoever has shown enmity to them, then show enmity to them."
"There is none worthy of worship but You, Glory be to You, Truly we have been of the wrongdoers."
Al-ʾImām Muḥammad ibn al-Husayn al-ʾĀjurrī (d. 360H – رحمه الله) made a beautiful duʿāʾ:
"May Allāh make us and you from among those by whom the Sunnah will be revived, and the innovations will be destroyed, the hearts of the people of Haqq will be strengthened and the souls of the people of Ahwāʾ will be supressed – by His Favor and Bounty."[Ash-Sharīʿah lil-ʾĀjurrī, vol. 1, p. 270]
Remember our Lions, Lionesses, Cubs and Pearls in your adiyah in the blessed hour of the blessed day, O my brethren.
Remember those who are trying to make the Word of our Rabb the Most High, with their blood, limbs and wealth.
Remember their families whom they have left behind in His Care, for His Sake, for the Ummah of His Beloved, for you.
Remember the Heirs of the Prophets- our scholars and students of knowledge, and those seeking to revive the Deen,
Remember our widows and orphans being oppressed in 'camps'.
Remember our captives being held in concentration camps and torturous prisons, just because they say الله is their only Lord.
Remember our orphans and our kids who have been snatched away by the Firawns of the current times (UK, Uyghur and elsewhere)
Remember to make du'a to keep all the munasireen safe and hidden from the tawagheet.
Remember to make du'a to keep us all united upon Haqq and to keep us sticking to each other in mutual love and compassion for His Sake.
Remember to ask Him to keep us all steadfast upon His Path, to keep us patient in His Worship.
Remember to make dua' for those suffering, that whatever happens, whatever calamity befalls, we always stay grateful and humble infront of Him, and that our iman never shake, no matter how much our bodies are toppled over by the crashing waves of trials.
Remember to make loads and loads of du'a to heal our sick, clothe and feed our poor, release the oppressed, feed our hungry and guard the honours of our brothers and sisters, and free the Muslims from the disbelieving people.
O my brethren, ask forgiveness for yourselves and for your ummah.
So know (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم ) that لا إله إلا الله (none has the right to be worshipped but الله), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women. And الله knows well your moving about, and your place of rest (in your homes).Muhammad 47:19
